Strength & Conditioning: the two parts of our classes.
At TENACITY WORX, we offer Strength & Conditioning classes. Strength and conditioning are the two major parts of our programming. Both elements are crucial ingredients in effective fitness management.
Why do we have the strength part?
Can’t we just run for a long time & get fit that way?
Well you can if you want, but there is a reason our classes involve strength work. It is commonly known that muscle burns more energy than fat. The stronger you get, the more efficiently your body uses energy. This means you will store less fat, and depending on your eating habits, you will also shed fat. You can run for a long time if you want to, but your body will get used to that. When we work on strength at TENACITY WORX, we are constantly increasing the weights. Our body gets used to the load because it’s getting stronger, as it gets stronger we add more weight, and so the cycle continues…and the results are just astounding!!
Conditioning is the cardio bit.
This is where we lighten the load and move stuff really fast…. or as fast as possible. This is the part of the class where our fitness levels are pushed to new heights. We race the clock, we race each other and we race ourselves to beat our previous best result. There’s nothing really complicated but it is functional. We often hear it referred to as “functional fitness” because everything we do incorporates the same types of movements we use in everyday life, be it throwing or pushing or jumping or or picking something up….it’s functional!

At TENACITY WORX we use things like kettlebells, climbing ropes, pull-up bars & gymnastic rings. We love olympic lifting and we row as if we’re really trying to get somewhere! Every session will move you to the next level in your pursuit of good health & fitness!
